Trial of editor-in-chief of "Azadlyg" newspaper appointed on December 26 in Azerbaijan

A preparatory session on the case of Ganimat Zakhidov, editor-in-chief of the "Azadlyg" newspaper who was arrested in Azerbaijan, is planned for December 26.

Advocate Elchin Sadygov, a defender of Ganimat Zakhidov's interests, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he wants to raise the issue on changing his client's freedom restriction measure.

Meanwhile, today a group of the members of the youth organization of Party of National Front of Azerbaijan (PNFA) has held a protest action in front of the former office of the "Azadlyg" newspaper at 33 Khagani Street.

The protesters held posters with portraits of Ganimat Zakhidov, arrested editor of the "Azadlyg" newspaper, his brother satirical journalist of the same newspaper Sakit Zakhidov, also arrested, and the first issue of the "Azadlyg" newspaper.
