One of the hunger strikers outside the Georgian parliament has been hospitalized.

On the 33rd day of the hunger strike, which activists are conducting outside the Georgian Parliament, David Chelidze fell ill and was hospitalized.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, on October 28, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Gedevan Popkhadze, United National Movement activist Darejan Tskhvitaria, and several others declared a hunger strike in protest against the persecution of supporters of European integration. The action is being held outside the Georgian Parliament, where protesters gather daily. On November 4, the total number of hunger strikers reached eight. On the 31st day of the hunger strike, three of them ended their hunger strike due to deteriorating health. The rest stated their readiness to continue the action until their main demands are met: new elections and the release of political prisoners. Six people are participating in the action. The hunger strikers were supported by participants in daily protests.

On November 29, Gedevan Popkhadze reported that one of the hunger strikers had become ill and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, Interpressnews reports.

According to Popkhadze, David Chelidze has been diagnosed with arrhythmia and will have to stay in the hospital for some time. However, the remaining hunger strikers have no intention of ending their hunger strike.
