Gasanguseinov demanded a report on the investigation into the murder of his sons at a picket

The father of Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the shepherd brothers killed by security forces, demanded that investigators provide information on the progress of the criminal investigation at a solitary picket in Makhachkala.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on June 28, 2021, the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala upheld an appeal against an investigator's refusal to initiate criminal proceedings against the former head of the Shamil District Police Department, who had reported the murder of the Gasanguseinov shepherd brothers as militants. The court's decision gives hope that the perpetrators will be brought to justice, stated Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the murdered men.

Murtazali Gasanguseinov held a solo picket today at 12:00 Moscow time near the Investigative Committee building in Makhachkala. Gasanguseinov, who has been unsuccessfully seeking access to the investigation materials into his sons' murders, is holding a picket with a poster reading "Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, who killed my children?" a representative of the "Team Against Torture" (an organization included in the register of foreign agents) present at the picket told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Gasanguseinov himself told "Caucasian Knot" on the eve of the picket that he was prompted to hold the picket by the fact that his new lawyer, who took over the case after a three-year hiatus, is not being allowed to access the case materials, and he himself has stopped receiving even informational letters about the ongoing investigation.
