Fuel oil emissions are being cleaned up in Anapa and the Temryuk district; the task force described them as insignificant.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on October 24, volunteers discovered fuel oil emissions in Anapa and the Temryuk district. Environmental activists began cleaning up the fuel oil emissions, and authorities brought in local administration staff. On October 27, minor fuel oil emissions were discovered near Taman, and on October 28, in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya and on the Bugayskaya Spit. In Anapa, on October 29, point emissions of fuel oil were discovered only on the "Vysoky Bereg" beach, the task force stated. In the Kerch Strait, approximately six kilometers of coastline are contaminated with fresh emissions, volunteers reported the same day. On October 31, new fuel oil emissions were detected on the coast in the Temryuk district of Krasnodar Krai. Authorities described the emissions as "spotted," while volunteers call them significant.

Point-of-effect oil spills are being eliminated in Anapa and the Temryuk district, the Krasnodar Krai task force reported.

"On November 1, small fragments of oil products were discovered on the coast of the Temryuk district, along a three-kilometer stretch from Makhlaievsky descent to Cape Zhelezny Rog. Volunteers from the Dolphin task force are collecting fuel oil from the shoreline. In Anapa, small spills were recorded from Malakhit toward the village of Vityazevo. Cleanup efforts have also been organized," the task force reported.

On the Bugayskaya Spit, a delicate cleanup of previously ejected oil particles continues. The work is being carried out by representatives of municipalities and Kuban-SPAS employees, the task force reported.

In August, satellite images showed that fuel oil pollution from sunken tankers continued in the Black Sea. Most of the fuel oil settled to the seabed, including in the area of Taman, Anapa, and the Bugay Spit, scientists concluded.

On December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. A crew member from one of the tankers died as a result.
