The prosecutor's office secured the seizure of Sergei Les's property.

A court, acting on a claim filed by the prosecutor's office, ordered the seizure of land plots and other real estate belonging to the former head of the Krymsky District of Kuban and his relatives.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel," on October 11, security forces detained the head of the Krymsky District, Sergei Les, and the following day, it was reported that the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar had remanded him in custody until November 29. The Krasnodar Regional Court refused to transfer Les to house arrest. On October 20, the district council of deputies reviewed Les's resignation and granted it. Les was charged under Part 3 of Article 33 and Part 3 of Article 285 of the Russian Criminal Code. 1 According to investigators, from January to March 2024, he instructed a subordinate to enter into land purchase and sale agreements with an individual named Les on preferential terms, without bidding, at a price "significantly below market value."

The Gelendzhik City Court has seized assets belonging to Sergei Les, as well as members of his family and other individuals associated with the former official. Interim measures were issued as part of a lawsuit filed by the Crimean Interdistrict Prosecutor, Kommersant reported today.

The lawsuit was accepted by the court in late September. The Ministry of Finance, the Federal Bailiff Service, and the Federal Treasury are also plaintiffs.

According to the prosecutor's office, the property in question was acquired with unverified income or as a result of violating anti-corruption standards.

The lawsuit concerns 130 properties, 21 of which (land plots and buildings) belong to Sergei Les himself and his family. The court sent 32 writs of execution to the bailiff service to seize the property, the newspaper writes.

As a reminder, in June 2017, district council deputies unanimously elected Sergei Les as head of the district. Les's predecessor, Anatoly Razumeev, was arrested in connection with a case involving land misuse and the purchase of delicacies at the expense of the budget.
