A Dagestani resident has been convicted of inciting terrorism.

A military court in Rostov-on-Don fined Dagestani resident Magomed Abulaisov, finding him guilty of inciting terrorism.

The case of the Dagestani native was heard by the Southern District Military Court. He was charged under Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code for inciting terrorist activity and justifying terrorism.

According to the republic's FSB department, the accused had a VKontakte page open to other users of the social network. On this page, he published two audio lectures by a radical Islamic preacher.

"The purpose of the published material was to disseminate terrorist ideology in society and convince the audience of its validity and appeal," TASS quotes the agency's statement.

The court found Abulaisov guilty and fined him 450,000 rubles. He was also stripped of his right to administer websites, Mirmol reports.

Magomed Abulaisov's case was submitted to the court in July, according to the case file on the court's website. Abulaisov was born in the village of Ashali in the Botlikh District of Dagestan and turned 23 in August, according to his entry in the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists. According to a bot tracking updates to this list, Abulaisov's details were added to it on June 2.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Southern District Military Court sentenced Dagestani resident Ramazan Valiev to a fine of 400,000 rubles under a similar charge of inciting terrorism. Previously, a 45-year-old resident of Chegem was sentenced on the same charge to a fine of 450,000 rubles.
