A court in Rostov-on-Don has remanded Alexey Logvinenko, former head of the Rostov-on-Don administration, in custody for two months on suspicion of abuse of office.

According to "Caucasian Knot," Rostov-on-Don Mayor Alexey Logvinenko resigned in January. Local residents gathered outside City Hall and expressed outrage at being denied entry to the meeting. The atmosphere at the entrance to City Hall became tense, and police arrived at the building. Logvinenko explained that he was leaving due to health reasons and a new job.

Former head of the Rostov-on-Don administration, Alexei Logvinenko, was arrested on October 24 on suspicion of abuse of office (Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code), Kommersant reports.

Logvinenko, who served as head of the Rostov-on-Don administration from October 2019 to January 2025, is suspected of taking out a commercial bank loan in violation of budget legislation. This resulted in damage to the city budget amounting to 47 million rubles.

On the same day, the Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don ordered Logvinenko to be remanded in custody for two months, until December 23, Interfax reports.
