A suspect in the murder of the head of the Parakar community has been detained.

Security forces have detained Narek Ohanyan, suspected of murdering Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community in Armenia.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on September 23, it was reported that Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community, had been murdered in Armenia. The second victim is a police officer.

A person has been detained in connection with the murder of Volodya Grigoryan in Armenia; his home has been searched, News.am reported on September 27.

According to Vardan Vardanyan, Chief of the Criminal Police, the murder is related to interpersonal relationships and is a continuation of certain February events. Vardanyan thus ruled out a political motive for Grigoryan's murder.

A search was conducted at the home of Narek Ohanyan, who was detained. He is the brother of Grigor Ohanyan, who was killed in a shootout in Merdzavan in February of this year. One of the defendants in the murder case is Volodya Grigoryan's brother, who is currently under house arrest.

Snap elections to the Council of Elders of Parakar, Armavir Region, were held on March 30. The opposition bloc "Unity" won, with its list leader, Volodya Grigoryan, becoming the head of the community.
