A collection of documents and materials entitled "State Security Bodies and Society. 1920-1992" is published in Kabardino-Balkaria.

The collection includes materials of the Documentation Centre of the Contemporary History of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), Central State Archive of the KBR and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Central Archive of the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) of Russia, archives of the FSB Department for the KBR and Rostov Region related to the period from 1920 to 1992. Candidate of history Aslan Kazakov is the compiler and author of comments.

It follows from the foreword that the documents contain data on the history of law enforcement bodies of the KBR, their personnel, and problems of political emigration.

A total of 243 documents related to the activities of state security bodies during one of the most complex periods of the country's history - formation of the Soviet power - are published for the first time.

The book presents lists of representatives of Kabardian and Balkar nobility who were forced to leave their homeland, 299 persons in total. Most of them left abroad, but some persons moved to other regions of the country, in particular, to Chechen-Ingushetia, Kuban Region and Dagestan.
