Access to beaches in Sochi has been restricted due to security threats.

Access to Sochi beaches will be closed until midday on September 25 to ensure there is no threat from unmanned boats.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," residents and tourists in Sochi, Gelendzhik, and the Tuapse district were ordered to leave beaches and embankments this afternoon due to the threat of drone attacks from the sea and air. In Sochi, some vacationers returned to the sea, despite the fact that the drone attack threat has not been cancelled. Social media users called this behavior of vacationers reckless.

Access to Sochi beaches will be restricted until the end of the first half of September 25, the Krasnodar Krai task force announced today. This decision was made for safety reasons. Emergency services must complete their overnight monitoring and thoroughly check the waters again in daylight for threats from unmanned boats.

"The danger from the coastal waters in Sochi and the Sirius FT has been removed, but I ask residents and visitors to remain vigilant and refrain from being near the shore today and tomorrow morning. We will restrict access to the beaches during this time. Emergency services must complete their overnight monitoring and thoroughly check the waters again in daylight," Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin wrote on his Telegram channel.

As a reminder, following the drone attack on central Novorossiysk, two people were killed and another 12 were injured, two of whom are in serious condition. Among the injured were two employees of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

In Tuapse, an adult and a child were injured as a result of a drone attack; their condition is assessed as moderate.
