Anapa resident arrested for provocation near mosque in Adygea

A court in Adygea has sent a resident of Krasnodar Krai to pretrial detention for throwing a pig's head near a mosque in the village of Kozet.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, on September 14, the Muslim Administration of Adygea and Krasnodar Krai reported that a pig's head had been thrown near the mosque in the village of Kozet in the Takhtamukaysky District of Adygea . Telegram users have called for the author of the provocation to be found and punished. On the afternoon of September 15, the Investigative Committee reported that a 43-year-old resident of Anapa had been detained; the case is being investigated under the article on public insult to the feelings of believers. There have been no such provocations in Kozet, where this mosque has been operating for about 30 years, a local activist told the "Caucasian Knot".

On September 16, the Takhtamukaysky District Court considered the investigator's motion to arrest a resident of Anapa, accused of publicly insulting the feelings of believers. According to the case materials, on the night of September 14, he threw a pig's head onto the territory of a mosque in the village of Kozet, the United Press Service of the Republic's Courts reported.

The judge agreed with the investigators' arguments and remanded the 43-year-old defendant in custody for two months, until November 14, 2025 inclusive, according to a message on the official Telegram channel of the Adygea courts.

The publication does not specify how the arrested man commented on the charges brought against him or whether he explained the motives for his actions.
