The prosecutor's office demanded the confiscation of the lands and houses of the former state secretary of Dagestan

The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit demanding the confiscation of land plots, residential and commercial real estate belonging to the former Secretary of State of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and his relatives. The department estimated the value of the property at 500 million rubles.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, on June 25, security forces detained the Secretary of State of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov after searches. Later, Magomedov was released on bail, and on July 1 it became known that he had been dismissed from the post of Secretary of State.

The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit against Magomed-Sultan Magomedov in the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala, demanding that 53 real estate properties be transferred to the state - land plots, residential and commercial real estate belonging to the former Secretary of State and 16 of his close relatives. The department estimated the value of the property located in Dagestan (mostly in Makhachkala), Stavropol Krai (Pyatigorsk and Yessentuki) and Moscow at 500 million rubles, Kommersant reported today, citing the text of the lawsuit.

According to the publication, the total market value of these properties exceeds one billion rubles. Their nominal owners in 2000-2023 were 16 relatives of Magomedov. They, as the prosecutor's office notes, "converted assets obtained as a result of corrupt acts into other property, which is legalization and entails their confiscation into the state treasury," and are declared as defendants in the lawsuit.

"The official combined income of Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and his family members did not allow them to acquire the said property," the publication quotes the Prosecutor General's Office lawsuit. According to the Federal Tax Service, Magomed-Sultan Magomedov earned 25.517 million rubles in 2001-2023, his wife had no income at all until 2021, but acquired six real estate properties with a total cadastral value of almost 118 million rubles.

According to the department, the growth in the defendants' income was "in a direct causal relationship with Magomedov's illegal seizure of the financial and material resources of OAO Dagnefteprodukt", "since the profit from his activities and the operation of the property complex, including companies created on its basis" went to his relatives. At the request of the prosecutor's office, a security seizure has already been imposed on the property, the publication writes.

Recall that Magomed-Sultan Magomedov was appointed to the post of State Secretary of Dagestan in 2021. Before his appointment, he worked for more than 15 years as the CEO of Dagnefteproduct. He is also the founder of the football club "Anzhi".
