Kondratyev wins Kuban governor elections for the third time

The current governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, won the regional elections, having received 83.17% of the votes after 100% of the protocols had been counted.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, on the evening of September 14, according to the first ballot counts, the current governor was leading by a significant margin in the elections in Krasnodar Krai over all other candidates. The precinct commissions managed to count the ballots in less than half an hour, Kondratyev's rival, the Communist Party candidate Alexander Safronov, was outraged. In his Telegram channel, he called Kondratyev's victory "manipulated", citing examples of election violations recorded by party observers.

The current head of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev (from the United Russia party), wins the regional gubernatorial election with 83.17% of the votes based on the processing of 100% of the protocols, according to data published by the Central Election Commission. More than 2.55 million residents of the region voted for Kondratyev.

In second place based on the processing of the protocols is the candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Alexander Safronov. 8.56% of voters, or 262 thousand people, cast their ballots for him. Ivan Tutushkin, nominated by the LDPR, received 4.51% of the votes (138 thousand people). In fourth place is Denis Khmelevsky, representing the party "A Just Russia - Patriots - for Truth" with 3.01% of the vote (92.3 thousand people).

According to the press service of the regional election commission, as of 6 p.m. on September 14, the turnout in the gubernatorial elections was 65.8%, Interfax reports.

Veniamin Kondratyev was appointed acting governor of Krasnodar Krai in April 2015 by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In September 2015, Kondratyev won the regional gubernatorial elections with 83.64% of the vote. In 2020, he was re-elected with 82.97%.

It should be noted that the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, also won the election, gaining 81.25% of the vote.
