Resident of Kizilyurt killed in special operation zone

Magomed Chekhov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, the authorities have officially recognized at least 1,553 servicemen from Dagestan as killed.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, by September 11, officials had publicly named at least 1,552 soldiers from Dagestan killed in Ukraine.

On September 11, the mother of the killed SVO participant Magomed Chekhov was presented with her son's posthumous award - the Medal "For Courage", the city administration reported on its Telegram channel. The Medal "For Courage" was awarded to the soldier by decree of the President back in March of this year, but the soldier himself did not have time to receive it.

In the summer of 2024, Magomed Chekhov voluntarily went to the SVO zone, served in the Donetsk region. Having been wounded in the leg, he was treated first in Khankala, then underwent surgery in Makhachkala. In January 2025, the man returned to the combat zone. At the end of March, his relatives were informed of the fighter's death. The funeral took place in the village of Sultanyangiyurt. Magomed Chekhov is survived by three sons.

Thus, at least 1,553 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the combat zone in Ukraine. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially announced by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Statistics of the SVO: losses are growing for the south of Russia".
