Tourists evacuated from Novorossiysk beaches due to drone attack

Authorities evacuated people from the beaches of Novorossiysk due to the threat of drone attacks. No casualties were reported.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of an unmanned boat in the Black Sea, sent from Ukraine. The statement was made against the backdrop of the cancellation of the threat of attack off the coastline in Novorossiysk.

"Due to the threat of a drone attack, people were evacuated from the beaches in Shiroka Balka, Abrau-Dyurso, Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka," the mayor of the city, Andrei Kravchenko, said in a message on his Telegram channel. Vacationers were also evacuated from the beach areas of Sudzhukskaya Spit and Aleksino, according to the Telegram channel of the municipal city management center.

During the air attack on Novorossiysk, on the outskirts of the resort village of Shiroka Balka, fragments of a drone hit a non-residential building, according to the Telegram channel of the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory. There were no casualties.

In the alert from the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which was sent to residents of the region, people were urged to take shelter in a protected room (basement, protective structure), move away from windows and call 112 if explosive devices fall.

It should be noted that the Novorossiysk mayor's office announced the threat of a drone attack at 11:39, the "attention everyone" signal with the activation of sirens in the city sounded at 12:09. At the same time, the reception and release of aircraft at the Gelendzhik airport was suspended. At 13:21, the threat of a UAV attack was cancelled.

Note that today, from midnight to 05:00 Moscow time, 11 aircraft-type drones were destroyed and intercepted in Krasnodar Krai and two in Rostov Oblast, the Ministry of Defense reported. Another 15 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea.
