Kalimatov promised to open Sunzha city park after scandal

After numerous complaints from city residents and a video, the head of Ingushetia promised to open the Sunzha city park in the summer of 2026.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, at the end of August, blogger Ramzan Barkinkhoev published a video demonstrating the depressing state of the main city park Sunzha. Once a center of attraction for local residents, it was abandoned after being closed for repairs in early 2025. Ramzan Barkinkhoev's video caused a stir among city residents.

The facility was closed due to problems with landscaping and sanitary conditions, which made it unsafe. Now the Sunzha authorities are preparing to conclude an agreement with the investor, which provides for the creation of safe infrastructure and the installation of new attractions, Kalimatov said in his Telegram channel.

"Already in September, the project will be submitted to the mayor's office for examination and subsequent conclusion of an agreement. We plan that in the summer of 2026, the renovated park will reopen its doors to visitors. This reconstruction is part of our comprehensive program to improve the urban environment of Sunzha. At the same time, the reconstruction of the "Memory and Glory" park is being completed. Very soon, the renovated parks will become favorite recreation areas for more than 60 thousand residents of Sunzha," Kalimatov promised the townspeople in his post.
