A religious procession and a mourning event in memory of the deceased hostages took place in Beslan

The memorial complex "City of Angels" is completing the mourning events dedicated to the 21st anniversary of the tragedy in Beslan. The names of 334 victims of the terrorist attack were read to the sounds of a metronome.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on September 1, the mourning ceremony at Beslan School No. 1 in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack began with the laying of flowers. Hundreds of people came to the memorial complex, which is located on the site of the destroyed gymnasium.

Today, Beslan is holding its third day of the memory watch. Footage published by GTRK "Alania" shows dozens of people who visited Beslan Memorial School No. 1. They brought flowers, toys and bottles of water. In the morning, a liturgy and a religious procession with portraits of the victims of the terrorist attack were held in the gym of the memorial school.  

At 13:05, the time when the first explosion occurred at the school, the mourning ceremony began. At the memorial complex "City of Angels" the names of the victims were called out to the sound of a metronome, 334 white balloons were released into the sky, according to the number of victims of the terrorist attack, the Telegram channel "Sapa 15" reported.

Note that today on the LED screens on the streets of Vladikavkaz, a drawing by 12-year-old Aza Gumetsova, a hostage who died during the seizure of the school, appeared - an image of a one-winged angel. The drawing is signed with the words: "As long as you remember, we are alive," the Ossetia-Iryston television company reports.

Moscow honors memory of victims of terrorist act in Beslan

An action on the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism was also held in Moscow. 334 white balloons were launched into the sky, RIA Novosti reports.

A memorial service for the victims was held in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Kulishki - Alanskoye Podvorye. A ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the victims of the terrorist act was held in the square in front of the church; those present honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence. Flowers, bottles of water and toys were laid at the monument.

It should be noted that on the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack in Beslan, journalist Elena Milashina published an investigation about the use of tanks during the storming of the school. Against the backdrop of her investigation, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin met with the relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack. "Mothers of Beslan" at a meeting with the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin raised the issue of the use of tanks during the storming of the school, said the co-chair of the organization's committee Aneta Gadieva. The cause of death of many hostages remains unknown, noted the co-chair of the organization "Voice of Beslan" Emma Tagaeva.
