Investigation launched into death of child in Khasavyurt maternity ward

A criminal case on the death of a child in the maternity ward of Khasavyurt was opened after publications on a social network. The child's father, pop-MMA fighter Ramazan Zalkepov, believes that the baby's death was caused by medical negligence.

The Investigative Committee of Dagestan reported on its Telegram channel that during its monitoring of the Internet, information was found about the death of a newborn in the maternity ward in Khasavyurt. A criminal case was opened under the article on causing death by negligence (part 2 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The Telegram channel "Tut Dagestan" reported about the death of the baby during childbirth. "A child died in the maternity ward of the city of Khasavyurt. Emergency hospitalization was not required, the mother's condition was stable. During labor, the umbilical cord became entangled around the child's neck," says a report from August 31, the authors of which claim that the baby's death was the result of medical negligence.

The child's father is pop MMA fighter Ramzan Zalkepov, Mash Gor reports. Attached to the message is a video recorded near the hospital, in which the man demands that the child's death be investigated and those responsible be held accountable.
