Over a ton of oil products spilled into the sea during the loading of a Turkish tanker at the KTK terminal; a local emergency regime has been declared in the port of Novorossiysk.

The emergency occurred five kilometers from the shore during the loading of oil onto the Turkish tanker T.Semahat, which arrived from the port of Kerfez. An oil spill measuring 400x100 meters formed at the site, the SHOT Telegram channel writes.

According to satellite images, the area of the oil spill near Novorossiysk is about one square kilometer, said remote sensing specialist Sergei Stanichny, who works with the Marine Rescue Service.

According to the specialist, the oil spill is moving "approximately towards Anapa." "It is currently windy in this area, the sea is rough. It is spreading to the northwest," TASS quotes him as saying.

The oil spill occurred in the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the PortNews news agency reports.

The company noted that there were no casualties or injuries, and there was no threat of fire. One of the three outrigger mooring devices (IMD) was taken out of service for an indefinite period after the incident, the press service of the BFM-Kuban consortium reported.

As a result of the environmental disaster in the Kerch Strait, Rospotrebnadzor recognized 141 beaches in Anapa and nine beaches in the Temryuk district as unsuitable for recreation.
