Authorities Call on Volunteers to Join Fire Fighting Near Gelendzhik

The area of the forest fire near Gelendzhik, which started after the drone attack, reached 41.5 hectares. The authorities called on volunteers to help extinguish the fire.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in Gelendzhik, in the area of the village of Krinitsa, after the fall of the drone debris on the night of August 28, a fire occurred in the forest. The fire, which started in the Pshad forestry, covered 3.2 hectares. 23 tourists were evacuated by boat.

The area of the forest fire in Gelendzhik has increased to 41.5 hectares, TASS reported with reference to the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Over the past 24 hours, the aircraft of the Southern Aviation Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry made 14 water drops: three times from a Be-200ChS aircraft, which had 36 tons of water on board; 11 times from a Mi-8 helicopter, which dropped 33 tons of water. 273 specialists and 46 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported on its Telegram channel.

To fight the forest fire, the Gelendzhik administration asked for volunteers to respond; volunteers were invited both with personal transport and for an organized trip by bus. To participate, you must leave an application in the chatbot; those who submitted the application will be sent a geopoint. The authorities explained that volunteers must have closed shoes, clothing that protects the body from fire, a headdress, a backpack fire extinguisher if available, and drinking water.
