Two Sochi residents arrested for promoting ideas of extremist organization

A court in Sochi has remanded in custody a woman and her adult son who installed a state registration plate with the symbols of an organization recognized as extremist on their car. They are also accused of disseminating the ideas of this organization.

According to the investigation, in June, the 38-year-old woman and her 21-year-old son publicly disseminated information about the work of the said extremist organization among an unspecified number of people in order to promote the ideology and attract new members.

They installed a state registration plate with the symbols of an organization whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation on their car. From August 2022 to July 2025, the woman persuaded her husband and other citizens to participate in the organization's activities, Kuban 24 wrote on August 26.

The woman and her son were detained, they admitted their guilt, and were taken into custody. Their home was searched, mobile phones, electronic storage devices, money and other items were seized.

Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that in July, a resident of Yeysk was fined two thousand rubles for tattoos with the symbols of a banned organization.
