Head of Kuban DOSAAF arrested in Moscow

The head of the regional branch of DOSAAF in Krasnodar Krai, Boris Levitsky, was arrested on charges of abuse of power.

Levitsky was detained in Krasnodar Krai and transferred to Moscow for investigative actions.

He is currently in a Moscow pretrial detention center. He faces up to 10 years in prison. Levitsky was arrested by a court decision, TASS reports.

Law enforcement agencies' claims against Levitsky may be related to his acquisition of a boarding house in the Tuapse region during his work as deputy general director of Gazprom Dobycha Krasnodar LLC, Kommersant reports.

Levitsky has been the chairman of the organization since 2017. It also states that from 2001 to 2016 he held senior positions at Gazprom OJSC, Kuban Gazprom LLC, and Gazprom Dobycha Krasnodar LLC. From 2012 to 2022, Levitsky was a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory - a member of the committee on military issues, public safety, education of pre-conscription youth and Cossack affairs, as indicated on the official website of the regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory.

Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that the appellate court upheld the legality of the seizure of property and money in favor of the state from the former deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory, Sergei Simonenko. Sergei Simonenko is accused of organizing the arson of cars belonging to the family of his former subordinate, as well as of an attempt on him. The victims in the case are a former employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations - Simonenko's subordinate - and his relatives.
