Experts rule out suicide of Anna Tsomartova

Friends of Rostov athlete Anna Tsomartova described her as balanced and life-loving, the girl's personality traits do not allow us to draw conclusions about suicidal tendencies. At the same time, it is impossible to assess her condition immediately before her disappearance in Kaspiysk.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the search for Rostov athlete, native of North Ossetia Anna Tsomartova has been ongoing since February 12, 2024. She disappeared in Kaspiysk after she suffered a defeat in a tournament and was in a depressed state. According to her mother, investigators have opened a murder case, but the kidnapping version is also being considered. On March 2, 2024, the mother sent a complaint to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, in which she stated that the department's press secretary Gayana Gariyeva spread false information about her daughter's suicide. Diana Tsomartova demanded an investigation and Garieva's dismissal. The press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan denied the accusations of slander against Tsomartova.

Experts, having studied the case of Anna Tsomartova, who went missing in Dagestan, ruled out the version of suicide. The girl did not have any mental disorders, she is characterized as a balanced and stress-resistant person, the Telegram channel "Kavkaz Pravda" reports.

In particular, the fragment of the document states that Tsomartova, according to the characteristics and testimony given by people familiar with her, is active, life-loving, with adequate self-esteem, balanced. When she won and when she lost, she reacted the same way, calmly, "without any disorder", was not prone to suicide, apathy, depression.

These individual psychological characteristics could not have influenced Tsomartova's decision to commit suicide, the conclusion says.

At the same time, it states that it is impossible to assess her psycho-emotional state immediately before her disappearance.

"Kavkazsky Uzel" also wrote that Nikolai Tsomartov was fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for violating ethics after he criticized the security agencies of Dagestan for the ineffective investigation of the disappearance of his daughter Anna Tsomartova. Tsomartov considered his dismissal humiliating and illegal and decided to appeal it in court. On November 18, 2024, it became known that the Sovetsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don refused to reinstate Nikolai Tsomartov in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, considering his statements about the investigation into his daughter's disappearance to be criticism of the department. In March, the Rostov Regional Court found Tsomartov's dismissal to be lawful, and the cassation court upheld this decision.
