212 people evacuated after drone attack in Rostov-on-Don

Six people remain in hospitals after a drone attack in Rostov-on-Don, 212 residents were evacuated from the damaged houses. A total of 15 multi-story buildings and one private house were damaged.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, as a result of the explosion that occurred due to a drone attack in Rostov-on-Don, several houses on Telmana and Lermontovskaya streets were damaged. 13 people were hospitalized, two of them in serious condition, the acting governor of the Rostov region reported.  

Of the 13 injured in the UAV attack, two were children. Seven victims received first aid and are already at home, while six are in hospitals, said Acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar.

"212 people have been evacuated from their homes. A temporary accommodation center has been organized for residents. Sappers are working on site. After they finish, the cordon will be lifted and the municipal commission will begin assessing the damage," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

City Mayor Alexander Skryabin announced the introduction of a local emergency regime. "On my instructions, psychologists have been sent to the temporary accommodation center to provide psychological assistance," he reported.

The drone attack damaged 15 apartment buildings and one private house. One administrative building was also damaged, the 161.ru publication quoted Alexey Azaryansky, head of the Civil Defense and Emergencies Department, as saying.

"I was in the kitchen, doing housework. When I came out of the kitchen into the hallway, there was a loud explosion behind me. It went off like that... I've never heard anything like it in my life," the publication quoted one local resident as saying.

22-year-old Danila told Mash that he was drinking coffee while getting ready for work during the attack. He heard a sound similar to a whistle and moved away from the window, and then there was an explosion. The shock wave knocked out the windows, showering him with shrapnel - they hit his forehead, leg, back and side. As follows from the photos published by the Telegram channel, the attack broke the windows and tore off the kitchen frame.

Residents of the houses damaged in the attack ran out of their apartments, taking their pets in carriers and on leashes, reports Bloknot Rostov.
