Kuban authorities reported no fuel oil emissions on the shore

For three weeks in a row, the authorities of Krasnodar Krai have reported no new emissions of fuel oil in Anapa. Volunteers have recorded an improvement in the situation in the village of Volna.

"Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that from July 25 to August 5, the authorities did not record new emissions of fuel oil on the coast of Anapa, although volunteers during this period stated that emissions were continuing. On August 4, the volunteer headquarters confirmed that local emissions of oil products continue on the beaches of Taman , and pollution is visible on satellite images. Scientists from the Subtropical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported a normalization of the concentration of oil products near Vityazevo, but noted a change in the chemical composition of macroalgae and the effect of fuel oil on the mussel population.

No new emissions of fuel oil were detected in Anapa from August 5 to 11, the Kuban Operational Headquarters reported today, citing data from daily monitoring of the coastline.

The last time the authorities reported detected emissions was on July 23, when clots of oil products were detected in the Temryuk District, near the village of Volna and the village of Artyushchenko. Volunteers from the Dolphins headquarters reported on August 11 that the situation on the beaches of the village of Volna had improved - they did not find any new pollution there from August 4 to 10.

According to the headquarters, up to 16 volunteers - "single volunteers" - have been working on the coast of the Temryuk district over the past week. On the Belaya Gora beach in the village of Artyushchenko, they continued to clear old fuel oil pollution - hardened fractions of petroleum products and fuel oil puddles under stones.

"In total, we managed to collect 293 bags of fuel oil (more than ten tons) over the week," the headquarters' Telegram channel said.

Vacationers in Anapa continue to swim in the sea, despite the closure of the beaches. "I went swimming, the sea is clean!" blogger Max Anapsky wrote on his channel today.
