Officials in Dagestan Suspected of Land Fraud

Several officials of the Karabudakhkent district are suspected of abuse of power in a case involving a land plot. The investigation estimated the damage at 15 million rubles.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the court sent the head of the Karabudakhkent district, Makhmud Amiraliev, accused of fraud, to a pretrial detention center. Amiraliev is the nephew of the former Secretary of State of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov.

Employees of the administration of the Karabudakhkent district of the Republic of Dagestan have become defendants in a criminal case initiated under the article on abuse of office, the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported. This became known after searches in the district administration and the suspects' homes.

According to the investigation, between 2023 and 2024, officials whose names were not given prepared an order from the head of the administration to form a plot for "organizing a personal subsidiary farm" from agricultural land in the village of Manaskent.

"(The plot) was leased to a local resident for a period of 20 years, and subsequently transferred to ownership. In October 2024, this plot was sold to a third party under a purchase and sale agreement and divided into 47 land plots," the department's Telegram channel said. The Investigative Committee emphasized that the state suffered damages in the amount of more than 15 million rubles.

Recall that on June 25, security forces detained the State Secretary of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, whose addresses were searched in the morning of the same day. He was later released on bail. Today, investigators reported on Magomedov's involvement in the theft of Dagnefteprodukt from the state. Property worth 3 billion rubles was seized from him and other defendants in the fraud case.
