Residents of part of Lermontovo were cut off from infrastructure after the bridge collapsed

People who live in the part of the village of Lermontovo beyond the Shapsukho River have faced difficulties after the collapse of the bridge - it is almost impossible to get to the center of the village, buy food, medicine.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, by the evening of August 3, the authorities of the Tuapse region reported that more than 200 people were involved in eliminating the consequences of the flooding. The authors of comments on social networks complained that help never arrived. Additional forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and volunteers from other settlements have been brought in to eliminate the consequences of the flooding in the Tuapse region of Kuban, local authorities reported today. Commentators in Telegram channels are concerned about the lack of water in the affected areas.

The flooded area in the Tuapse District was visited by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev. According to him, the water in the affected villages "has practically disappeared." "Water supply to Lermontovo will be resumed in the coming days. Until then, water will be delivered in the volumes that residents need," he promised on the evening of August 4 in his Telegram channel.

In another message, he indicated that part of the settlement will already have water by August 5, the rest - by the evening of August 7, once the central network is restored. Until then, water will be delivered.

"As for the bridge over the Shapsukho River in Lermontovo, we will rebuild it, work will begin in mid-August. Now we will put the existing bypass road in order, which residents will be able to use," Kondratyev said.

Users in the comments to his messages complained about the lack of communication with the central part of Lermontovo. One of the messages has 19 comments.

"Lermontovo. Please help, we can't get across the river. There is no road. There is no bridge. Please don't leave people in a hopeless situation. People are panicking, they can't even call an ambulance if they get sick! They can't buy any medicine or food. Please help people!", - wrote in the comments to Kondratyev's message user Perevo12.

"People can't get to the pharmacy and grocery store, elderly people are left without help, we need a crossing over the river, there is no bridge, people are hostage on the other side of the river," - supported user Imya.

"Make an alternative road (for pedestrians and regular cars) to the village, to grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.!!!

The Investigative Committee stated that for several years, citizens have contacted various authorities with complaints about improper maintenance of the structure, but it never got to the point of repair, the Investigative Committee of Russia information center said in its Telegram channel.

After the bridge collapsed, about 300 houses (1,000 to 2,000 people) remained on the other side of the Shapsukho River, 93.ru reports.

Recall that on November 24-25, 2023, as a result of heavy rainfall, dozens of houses in Goryachiy Klyuch and the Bezymyanny rural district were flooded. A state of emergency was declared in the city, nine people were evacuated to temporary accommodation centers. By November 27, strong winds knocked down trees in Krasnodar, Anapa, Sochi and Novorossiysk, several people were injured, at least two died. On November 28, the regional authorities reported that they were calculating the damage from the elements and involved volunteers in eliminating the consequences of the bad weather. The total amount of payments to residents of the Krasnodar Territory affected by the storm is about 25 million rubles, the authorities reported at the time.
