Residents of Tuapse District Complain of Lack of Help After Flooding

The authorities of the Tuapse district reported the participation of more than 200 people in the liquidation of the consequences of the flooding. The authors of comments in the telegram channel of the head of the district complained that help never arrived.

The head of the Tuapse district, Sergei Boyko, reported this evening that emergency services are working around the clock. "A total of 236 people and 55 units of equipment are involved in the liquidation. One of the main tasks is to provide the population with water. Distribution points operate in the cultural centers of the villages of Moldavanovka, Defanovka and in school 35 in the village of Novomikhaylovsky. Water containers are located on the streets in the village of Lermontovo," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also reported that from August 4, government representatives will begin door-to-door visits to the affected streets.

"I wonder what kind of bypass route they organized? Over the mountain, where you can't pass each other? So these are the people themselves, no one organized anything. And we are cut off from the world, and they even bring water to the central part of the village, but for us , sorry," she pointed out.

The bridge in Lermontovo that was washed away this morning has been asked to be repaired for at least 8 years now. Residents say it was built “by captured Germans after the Great Patriotic War.” And for a long time it was considered unsafe, the 93.ru publication reported today.

In 2017, after complaints, local officials “ordered the creation of a commission” to inspect the structures. It is unclear how it all ended. In February 2025, residents began complaining about the bridge again, but this time publicly. The head of the Tuapse district, Sergei Boyko, promised to reconstruct it. And in the summer of 2025, he said that money had even been allocated for the work – 64.5 million out of the required 700 million rubles. A week after these words, the bridge was washed away by a flood, the publication writes.
