Pashayev's rival in Efremov's case has regained his lawyer status in Chechnya

Alexander Dobrovinsky, who was stripped of his lawyer status for violating professional ethics during the trial of Mikhail Efremov, has regained his lawyer status in Chechnya.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in 2020, a representation was submitted to the Moscow Bar Association to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Alexander Dobrovinsky, the lawyer for the victims in the case of the accident involving actor Mikhail Efremov. At the same time, the North Ossetia Department of the Ministry of Justice submitted a representation to the Bar Association of the republic to terminate the status of lawyer Elman Pashayev.

Alexander Dobrovinsky has once again received the status of a lawyer - he is now listed in the Bar Association of the Chechen Republic, this follows from the data of the register of lawyers on the website of the Ministry of Justice, the project "Word to Defense" reported.

As indicated on the website of the Bar Association of Chechnya, Dobrovinsky opened a branch of the Moscow Law Firm "Alexander Dobrovinsky and Partners" in Grozny.

It is also indicated there that the firm was registered on June 23, 2023 and it includes only one lawyer - Dobrovinsky himself.

In November 2020, the Bar Association of the City of Moscow published the decision of its council to deprive Alexander Dobrovinsky of the status of a lawyer for two years. According to the council, he violated paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the Code of Professional Ethics of a Lawyer when he told the media that he was asked to defend Mikhail Efremov after a fatal accident. Dobrovinsky claimed that he did not want to defend a drunk driver who caused the death of a person. The Moscow AP regarded this as disregard for the presumption of innocence, the Pravo.ru website reported on November 2, 2020.

In February 2021, the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow rejected Alexander Dobrovinsky's claim against the decision of the Moscow Bar Association to deprive him of his status for two years, the United Press Service of the Moscow Courts of General Jurisdiction reported.

In his Telegram channel, Dobrovinsky did not report the restoration of his lawyer status, and only once mentioned visiting Chechnya - on August 16, 2023, he published a photo of himself wearing a fur hat. "Brought from Grozny with love," reads the caption under the photo.

"Kavkazsky Uzel" also wrote that the Bar Association of North Ossetia deprived Elman Pashayev of his lawyer status on October 19, 2022, after which he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and went to the combat zone in Ukraine. Before his arrest in 2024, Pashayev was a tank commander with the rank of junior sergeant.

According to the investigation, former lawyer Elman Pashayev promised to help free Alexey Blinovsky and his wife, blogger Elena Blinovskaya, from criminal liability for a large monetary reward. She is accused of tax evasion in the amount of 1.4 billion rubles. Since September 2024, Pashayev has been in custody, and he refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Pashayev's case will be heard by the Donetsk Garrison Military Court.
