Police named motives for attack on Timur Khizriev

The conflict between MMA fighter Timur Khizriev and his attackers in Makhachkala is related to the athlete's late payment for a car. A criminal investigation has been launched under the article on intentional infliction of harm to health.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, the attack on MMA fighter Timur Khizriev occurred on the evening of July 15 on Daniyalov Street in Makhachkala. Two people ambushed Khizriev in the courtyard of a house and shot at him when he got out of the car. Khizriev was hospitalized with five wounds, he is in stable condition. Video footage of the attack has been published.

According to the preliminary version, the conflict occurred due to debt obligations between the victim and one of the attackers - his 30-year-old acquaintance, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, Gayana Gariyeva, reported today in her Telegram channel "Criminal Chronicle".

"We are talking about the "purchase" of a car, which was promised to be paid for, but later. The wait for the payment of money or the return of the car turned out, in the opinion of the owner, to be too long or hopeless. After all, all previous meetings and attempts to negotiate did not lead to understanding, and ended, last evening, with shooting from traumatic weapons," she said.

The same version was given by the Telegram channel Mash, specifying that, according to sources, the fighter took about 30 million rubles to buy an SUV and was unable to pay the amount on time.

According to Gariyeva, the identities of both attackers have been established and they are being sought. A criminal case has been opened under the article on intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the report says.

Two of the attackers on MMA fighter Timur Khizriev have been detained, TASS reported today, citing Dagestan Sports Minister Sazhid Sazhidov.

Gariyeva denied this information. “As soon as the suspects (one or both) are detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan will notify about this on the official website. There will also be information on this channel,” she said.

Timur Khizriev is a mixed martial artist who has competed in PFL, Bellator and other tournaments, Gazeta.Ru reports.
