Two fighters from Volgograd region killed in Ukraine

Alexey Yurkin and Vitaly Zolotukhin were killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 1,253 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in it.

The funeral of 45-year-old grenade launcher Alexei Yurkin, killed in a military operation in Ukraine, was held in the Novoanninsky district, the head of the district Nikolai Moiseyev reported on his Telegram channel.

"He signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense in October 2024 and [was killed] on his second combat mission on January 15, 2025," the publication says.

Earlier, the head of the district reported the death of Vitaly Zolotukhin, born in 1967, in a military operation. "From August 9, 2024, he served as the acting commander of the grenade launcher squad of the 2nd motorized rifle battalion. He died tragically on October 19, 2024, while performing his military duties during a special military operation," the official wrote.

Thus, at least 1,253 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
