Two Contract Soldiers from Adygea Receive Posthumous Awards

Nikolay Ashcheulov and Oleg Bugayev were killed during the fighting. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 88 fighters from Adygea have been officially recognized as killed.

Over 6,950 soldiers from the south of Russia have been recognized as killed in Ukraine

Officials and security forces have publicly recognized at least 3,479 soldiers from the Southern Federal District and 3,473 from the North Caucasus Federal District as killed in the war zone in Ukraine.

The head of the Maykop district of Adygea, Mikhail Maryin, reported on his Telegram channel that orders of courage were awarded to the families of two killed contract soldiers. One of them, Private Nikolai Ashcheulov from the village of Abadzekhskaya, went to the military operation zone in May 2024 and was killed on June 1 of the same year. The second, Private Oleg Bugayev, was in the military operation zone from September 2024 and died on October 12 of the same year.

Thus, the number of soldiers from Adygea officially recognized as killed in the military operation has reached 88.
