Grozny law enforcers put Seda Suleimanova on wanted list

Seda Suleimanova, who was taken by her relatives to Chechnya and stopped communicating in 2023, has been put on the wanted list as a missing person.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has put Seda Suleimanova on the wanted list, the “Lenta.ru” outlet has reports today, citing a wanted list card from the MIA’s database. "According to contact data, the girl was announced wanted by Grozny law enforcers," the report says.

Chances to find Suleimanova are "not so high" even after her official announcement as wanted, but it is necessary to search for her, Eva Merkachova, a member of the Human Rights Council, has told the outlet.

"It's strange that Seda was put on the wanted list only now. In theory, this should have been done immediately after the criminal case was opened. Maybe there was some twist; and law enforcers got some idea of what had happened to her, and where she is. And when asked why the girl hadn’t been declared wanted, they’ll now be able to report that they’ve done it," she said.

"The reason for the search: missing," says the wanted list card from the MIA’s website, which was accessed by the "Caucasian Knot."
