Three Kuban residents awarded prison terms for calls to terror acts
The court has sentenced three residents of Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) to colony terms, finding them guilty of calls for terror acts at airports and trains.
The Southern District Military Court has sentenced three residents of the Krasnodar Territory to colony terms for calls to blow up airports and trains, the TASS News Agency has reported today, citing a court source.
The convicts – Alexander Pogorelov, Djamal Mamatkulov and Roman Myskov – were charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court's Telegram channel has specified.
According to the court, in March 2023, the convicts, while in Krasnodar, decided to record and post a video on the Internet calling for terrorist activities.
Pogorelov “bought camouflage clothing, masks, two unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), an airsoft model of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, a tripod for video recording, and a homemade sign of the “Lovtsovo” dwelling settlement of the Domodedovo Urban District of the Moscow Region, the court has added.
They put on the camouflage clothing and masks for conspiracy and made a video recording.
All the three found a suitable location for video recording, “where they put on the camouflage clothing, masks for conspiracy and made a video recording, having picked up their drones and weapons.”
While recording, Pogorelov recited a text, “of an inciting nature, calling for actions related to violence (blowing up airports and trains) and aimed at fighting the current authorities,” the court report said. The video was posted on the Internet.
All the three have been found guilty. Pogorelov was sentenced to 6.5 years in a general regime colony, Mamatkulov to six years, and Myskov to 5.5 years, the report has noted.
