Zabaikalsky Krai: two prisoners accused of justifying seizure of Beslan School
A criminal case has been sent to court against two colony inmates kept in Zabaikalsky Krai (Territory), who are accused of justifying the terror act committed in Beslan; one of them is a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
The Prosecutor's Office (PO) of Zabaikalsky Krai has sent to court the case of two prisoners accused of justifying the seizure of the Beslan School, the PO reported in its official website on May 19.
According to investigators, last August, the accused – a 41-year-old local resident and a 42-year-old KBR resident – who are serving their prison terms at Penal Colony No. 2, have publicly justified and promoted "the activities of international terrorist organizations banned in the Russian Federation."
Besides, as the PO writes, they publicly justified the case of the people who took hostages at the Beslan School, and also attempted to kill law enforcers in 2016. Now, both have been charged under Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public justification and propaganda of terrorism). The case was submitted for consideration to the 2nd Eastern District Military Court.
