Six residents of Karachay-Cherkessia accused of involvement in “At Takfir wal-Hijra”*
Public prosecutors consider Khasin Kabardaev, a resident of the Adyge-Khablsky District, to be an organizer of an extremist cell, and five more local residents will appear in court as its members.
The Adyge-Khablsky District Court of Karachay-Cherkessia has accepted for consideration the case against six residents of the republic, detained in May 2024 on the charge of involvement in an extremist religious association.
The public prosecutors consider Khasin Kabardaev to be the organizer of the “At Takfir wal-Hijra”* cell. According to the investigators’ version, Khasin Kabardaev used his knowledge of the Islamic religion and Sharia, as well as his “leadership skills” and authority among members of the Muslim community of Karachay-Cherkessia, to create a division of the banned organization in the republic.
The purpose of the cell is said to be the propaganda and dissemination of radical views and ideas of the ideologists of the “At Takfir wal-Hijra”* organization among the Muslims of the republic. According to the investigators’ version, the voluntary members of the association were Arsen Aichepshev, Murat Kabardaev, Nazir Koshev, Murat Mulazhev, and Mikhail Smadich, who supported the religious views of Khasin Kabardaev, the United Press Service for the Courts of Karachay-Cherkessia reports today on its Telegram channel.
