Russian TV channels resumed in Georgia

After about a 36-hour suspension, several hours ago Russian TV channels were restored in the cable television network of Tbilisi.

Along with that, as the "Interfax" indicates, some of the Georgian channels are still off. This is the case with the "Imedi" (both TV and radio) and "Kavkasia".

Besides, as the Agency reports, today the public transport, including the metro, was reopened. In the Rustaveli Avenue, unlike yesterday, there are no more militaries and special agents, although policemen are still on guard at the Parliament building.

The Georgian Parliament has unanimously approved the decree of the President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili on introducing the state of emergency in the country for the period of 15 days. 149 MPs have voted for the decree.

The RIA "Novosti" reports that according to the constitution, the Parliament of Georgia should have approved the decree within 48 hours from the moment of its signing, otherwise, the action thereof should have automatically expired after this term.
