Threat of UMB attack announced in Novorossiysk

Authorities of the Russian city of Novorossiysk have announced the danger of an attack by unmanned boats (UMBs) on the city. Local residents have been warned that sirens will be turned on.

Today at 11:18 a.m. Moscow time, the threat of UMBs attack was announced by Andrei Kravchenko, the Mayor of Novorossiysk.

"Esteemed Novorossiysk residents! When the sirens are on – the "Attention Everyone!" signal – residents of the first coastline: if you are at home, try not approach the windows. Take shelter in a room with windows not looking at the sea or in rooms without windows with solid walls (hallway, bathroom, toilet or storage room)," the Mayor wrote in his Telegram channel, also urging townspeople not to stay in open spaces near the sea.

In its turn, the local outlet "Novorossiyski Rabochy" (Novorossiysk Worker) posted in its Telegram channel a message from the local branch of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) stating that "31 UMBs have gone out to sea in the direction of Novorossiysk and the Crimean Bridge, expected arrival time at 3:30 p.m."

Meanwhile, today, a rehearsal of the Victory Day parade is scheduled in the hero city of Novorossiysk, the local administration's Telegram channel has announced.
