Five Ukrainian citizens convicted in Rostov-on-Don as members of terrorist community

The Southern District Military Court sentenced five residents of Melitopol to prison terms ranging from 11 to 14 years, finding them guilty of participating in a terrorist community.

According to investigators, the convicts, while living in Melitopol, were engaged in purchasing and transporting firearms and explosives, manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and committing acts of international terrorism.

In March 2022, the convicts, acting on the instructions of the leader of the terrorist community, equipped caches for storing weapons and ammunition. They also found a location where humanitarian aid was distributed, near which they parked a car stuffed with explosives. However, between April 3 and April 8 of the same year, all the members of the community were detained.

As a result, the above court found all the defendants guilty and sentenced Gorlov and Petrov to 14 years each in a maximum security penal colony, Golubev and Zhukov to 12 years each in the same colony, and Zuev to 11 years of freedom deprivation.
