First issue of the newspaper "The Chechen Human Rights Defender" published in Chechnya

Presentation of the newspaper named "The Chechen Human Rights Defender" was held in the city of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya. The mass medium will publish materials related to defence of human rights.

While presenting the new medium, Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman in Chechnya, has emphasized, that "The Chechen Human Rights Defender" is the only edition of this sort in the territory of the South Federal District.

"The newspaper is aimed at a broad audience of readers," the Chechen Ombudsman has declared. "In its pages, the readers will find the rubrics like 'Echo of Passed War,' 'In Search of You,' 'Right of Everyone' and others. It will publish materials on protection of human rights and freedoms. In our work we'll consider proposals and remarks of all the interested parties and representatives of mass media of the Republic."

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the information-and-analytical edition "The Chechen Human Rights Defender" will be circulated in 999 copies.
