Another criminal case to be initiated against Stanislav Dmitrievskiy

A new aspect has appeared in the prosecution of Stanislav Dmitrievskiy, analyst of the Nizhniy Novgorod Tolerance Support Foundation. The GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region has revealed in the actions of the human rights activist the attributes of the crime contemplated by part 2, Article 146, of the Criminal Code (CC) of the Russian Federation. The public order guardians have arrived to this conclusion after the audit of the Foundation conducted on August 29, 2007.

Mr Dmitrievskiy himself has told to the "Novaya Gazeta" that the criminal case will be initiated on the fact of using counterfeit software, and in the near future the charge can be presented to him.

The paper reminds that earlier the human rights activist was brought to criminal liability in the form of two years of conditional deprivation of freedom for publication of appeals of the leaders of the non-recognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria to peaceful settlement of the Chechen conflict. According to part 4, Article 74, of the RF's CC, in case of a repeated conviction the court shall have the right to replace the conditional sentence by real imprisonment and define the total term by summing up the punishments. Thus, Mr Dmitrievskiy is under as threat of becoming a general colony inmate for the term from two to four years.
