Kadyrov’s law enforcer harshly detained in Dagestan

In Dagestan, at least six persons took part in the detention of a driver in a state of alcoholic intoxication. According to media reports, the drunk driver was identified as Major General Alikhan Tsakaev, Chechen Minister for Emergencies, a classmate of Ramzan Kadyrov.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that after Police Colonel Alikhan Tsakaev, a Ramzan Kadyrov’s fellow villager, was appointed the new Deputy Minister for Emergencies in Chechnya in February 2020, natives of Chechnya noted a continuation of the course aimed at strengthening the regime of the Chechen leader’s personal power.

On April 14, in Dagestan, inspectors of the road-and-patrol police service (known as DPS) harshly detained Major General Alikhan Tsakaev, Chechen Minister for Emergencies. The Major General was driving a GMC SUV and attracted the attention of the DPS inspectors, the “Lenta.ru” reported.

According to the “Podem” (Rise) publication, the policemen suspected that the driver was in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The Major General refused to obey a DPS inspectors’ request to stop his car, turned the car around, and tried to hit on the policemen. Then the car was stopped, and the driver was forcibly pulled out and laid on the asphalt.

Sultan Khamzaev, a Russian State Duma member from Dagestan, noted that “real mountaineers and Dzhigits cannot be drunk,” the “News.ru” portal reports. Sultan Khamzaev added that it was not appropriate for a person engaged in the state system to react in such a way to the legal requests of the police.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in November 2019, being the chief of the Argun police, Alikhan Tsakaev, after the Ramzan Kadyrov’s threats against social media users, posted on his page in Instagram* an advertisement for violent methods, which, in his assessment, help easily achieve the desired behaviour of a person.

*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
