Advocate checks conditions of Orlov*’s detention at SIZO

Oleg Orlov* has been placed in a three-person cell in a SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Samara, and the human rights defender does not complain about the conditions of his detention, an advocate reports. The defender suggests that Oleg Orlov* will be transferred to Syzran or Togliatti.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 15, it became known that Oleg Orlov*, a 71-year-old co-chairman of the “Memorial” Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD), was convoyed from Moscow to Samara. Oleg Orlov* noted that he was not notified of the transfer. So, he did not have enough time to take the necessary belongings. The convicted human rights defender is still unaware of his final destination.

“Yesterday, Oleg Petrovich was transferred to a three-person cell. The conditions of detention are normal there, just like his cellmates. Oleg Orlov* feels well and has not lost his good spirits,” the “Memorial” Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD) reports in its Telegram channel.

Let us remind you that on February 27, in Moscow, a court found Oleg Orlov* guilty in a criminal case for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces and sentenced him to 2.5 years of imprisonment.
