Pensioner from Stavropol Territory suspected of justifying terrorism

Law enforcers have suspected Larisa Kuznetsova, a 77-year-old resident of the Stavropol Territory, of justifying terrorism in her comment placed in a social network about the murder of blogger Vladlen Tatarsky.

As reported by the ASTRA outlet, the reason for initiating the case was her comment in the "VKontakte" social network about the detention of Darya Trepova on suspicion of blowing up Tatarsky.

Larisa Kuznetsova is under recognizance not to leave the place, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported.

Vladlen Tatarsky was killed by an explosion in a café in Saint Petersburg on April 2, 2023. The court found Darya Trepova guilty of organizing the terror act and sentenced her to 27 years in penal colony, the "Kommersant" has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that Zalina Marshenkulova, a journalist from Kabardino-Balkaria, who left for Germany, was accused in absentia of justifying terrorism because of her posts in a Telegram channel. Sources claimed that the reason for Zalina's prosecution was in her statements about Tatarsky's death. However, according to investigators, Marshenkulova published "a number of materials justifying terrorism" a month before Tatarsky's death.

Marshenkulova herself has linked her persecution with her political position.
