Schoolchildren in Southern Russia frightened by offers to commit terror acts

Teenagers from different country regions, including from Southern Russia, are massively receiving offers in instant messengers from unknown persons to commit terror acts, Ekaterina Mizulina, the director of the Safe Internet League, has reported.

"They promise money, narcotic drugs and alcohol. They intimidate pupils by their alleged knowledge of all the data about them," she wrote in her Telegram channel.

Besides, the unknown senders present themselves as employees of the Safe Internet League and send false messages about mined schools and shopping centres, Ms Mizulina has noted, adding that "many teenagers and students are afraid to go to their schools and universities; and parents fear to let their children from home."

She believes that those who entice teens into commission of terror acts, as well as those who send messages about mined buildings, are trying to intimidate the Russian society in this way.

Messages with offers to commit terror acts and to mine buildings are an attempt to exert psychological pressure on people and increase nervousness in the society, Akhmed Dudaev, the Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, has stated.
