Contract soldier from Krasnodar Territory sentenced to six years for desertion

After concluding his contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), Alexei Myshkin escaped from his unit four times. The Krasnodar Garrison Military Court has found him guilty of desertion and sentenced him to six years in penal colony.

As follows from the verdict, Myshkin entered into a contract in June 2023. On August 19, 2023, he left his military unit and was in the Dinsky District of the Krasnodar Territory, where a month later he was detained by officers of the military commandant's office. After that, knowing that a check was underway, Myshkin ran away again for three times, "with no intention of returning to the unit." Each time he was detained by officers of the military prosecutor's office. His sister told the court that he lived with her and said that he had been granted weekend vacations.

Earlier, a court in Adygea sentenced Evgeny Antoshkin, a mobilized person from Belorechensk, to six years in jail, finding him guilty of desertion from the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine.
