Woman from Volgograd Region demands inquiry into death of her son, a contract soldier

Nailya Tulekeshova, a resident of the Pallasovsky District, has asked Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), to initiate an investigation into the death of her son in a military unit stationed in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. She asserts that the version of the unit's command about the contract soldier's suicide raises doubts.

According to the "V1.ru" outlet, the 19-year-old Zamir Tulekeshov took his contract service at the military unit and died in January. "On January 28, they called us and said that Zamir had voluntarily passed away ... We found that he had marks of beatings on his forearm and groin, and a deep cut on the back of his head," the outlet quotes Ms Tulekeshova as saying.

Besides, according to Zamir's relatives, his colleagues, who had earlier communicated with them, have suddenly stopped contacting. Relatives do not rule out that Zamir's colleagues could have been intimidated.
