Interregional public organization of free legal assistance "Patient's Monitor" closes its offices in Ingushetia and KBR

Free legal aid organizations "Patient's Monitor" and "ZhKKh (Housing and Communal Services) Monitor" were forced to close their offices in Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) due to lack of funds; their work continues in Dagestan.

"This decision was not easy for us; and we delayed this moment as much as we could. The reason is banal: there is not enough money to maintain the offices and lawyers' salaries," the Telegram channel of the above "Monitors" has stated.

However, there is hope that the work in these two republics can be resumed. "We really hope that there will be people who will be able to bear the costs of maintaining these two offices. This has already happened once: we closed and quickly opened again," the message explains.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Patient's Monitor" deals with problems of an accessible environment for people with disabilities; it provides patients suffering from rare diseases with medications; and helps defend patients' rights in court. The "ZhKKh Monitor" is engaged in providing legal support on the issues of supplies, electricity water and gas outages, as well as recalculations of payments for utility services.
