Journalist Nozdrinov sentenced to 8.5 years in prison

The court has found journalist Alexander Nozdrinov guilty of spreading fake news about the Russian Army and sentenced him to 8.5 years of freedom deprivation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alexander Nozdrinov, a journalist from the Krasnodar Territory, was charged under a criminal case for disseminating fake news about the Russian Army. The journalist's relatives associate his persecution with his civic position and declared that the court was biased. In his last word, Alexander denied the accusations and treated his case as fabricated.

The Novokubansky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory has sentenced Nozdrinov to 8.5 years of freedom deprivation in a colony and banned him from conducting any activities related to the media for four years, the "Network Freedoms" project reported in its Telegram channel.

In March 2022, Alexander's home was searched; and during his detention, he was beaten up. Initially, he was arrested on an administrative case of disobedience to traffic police inspectors; and then he was placed in custody under a criminal case because of posting a photo of a destroyed high-rise building in Kyiv with a critical caption addressed to Russian militaries.

In March this year, Alexander Isavnin, an expert, discovered signs of editing in the screenshots of the posts that had formed the basis of Nozdrinov's case.
