Photo session of two girls in mountains angers residents of Dagestan

Laurita Karpova, a participant in the reality show "Patsanki” (Tomboys), has posted a photo session, which depicts her engagement to another girl. The photos were taken in the Sulak Canyon of Dagestan. After a wave of indignation in social networks, she hastened to declare that there was no relationship with the girl in the pictures. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan and Sultan Khamzaev, a State Duma MP, have already become interested in the photo session.

In the photos posted on the Instagram*, Laurita Karpova receives a ring from another girl, they kiss each other and drink champagne.

The photo session has angered the locals. After a lot of critical comments, Karpova removed all the photos with the above girl, as well as the photo session itself, from her page. She said that this was an ordinary staged photo session, the “Lenta.ru” writes.

However, the Dagestani MIA has launched an investigation under the article “Propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and (or) preferences, and gender change”.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Ministry of Tourism of Dagestan had issued a memo for guests to the republic, recommending them to wear "modest" clothes and follow the traditional rules of conduct.

Making remarks to tourists who violate the norms of behaviour adopted in Dagestan are quite appropriate, said some residents of the republic, noting that their fellow countrymen often violate these rules themselves. Visitors can only be reprimanded in the most egregious cases, others have objected.

*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
